Barneys' End-of-Season Sale Is Full of Designer Shoes for More Than Half Off

Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.

Discounts are reaching 60% off retail prices at Barneys New York's end-of-season sale right now, so we popped into the luxury department store last night to see what deals were left in the new year for shoppers. While the handbag selection has dwindled to three tables with brands like Maiyet ($1,049), Want Les Essentials ($319), Marc by Marc Jacobs ($159), and Thakoon ($589) available, the shoe salon is the main attraction here.

The selection still very much reads like a celebrity's well organized closet. Start out on the fifth floor, where we spotted styles from Balenciaga (flats, $259), Dries Van Noten (brogues, $279), Manolo Blahnik (jeweled sandals, $399), Chloe (flats, $299), and even a few versions of Chanel sneakers. Most styles are available in sizes 5 through 11.5, and the selection doesn't really vary from size to size. Pierre Hardy and Chloe were definitely the most prevalent brands here.

In apparel, we found labels like The Row, Givenchy, Mary Katrantzou, and Giorgio Armani for up to 75% off retail prices. The selection included mostly knits and jackets — we especially liked a fuzzy light blue Givenchy sweater ($309). There is an impressive selection of well-priced denim on the women's Co-op floor, like a paint-splattered pair for $59.

It's worth noting that this isn't the time to try and score a deal on classic or constantly in-demand styles, like Chanel ballet flats — we didn't spot any. Click through the gallery above to view the standout shoe styles that we did see.
