You Can Pre-Order Prada's Fall 2016 Collection in Soho Right Now

Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.

Prada is joining the growing list of designers who are bringing its pieces straight to consumers not long after sending them down the runway. Through Saturday, May 7th, you can pre-order the label's fall 2016 collection at its Soho flagship on Broadway — three months earlier than you'd normally see it hit the shelves.

The initiative is part of "PradaVision," which is what WWD describes as "a kind-of guerrilla pre-pre-sale-pop-up" with 50 video monitors set up on the store's stairs displaying videos from fall shows and backstage footage while giving customers the chance to get a better look at the collection on mannequins.

Even if you don't $26,635 laying around for a fur that is straight off the runway, it's worth stopping into the store to see how technology and fashion collide in this installation, a not-so-subtle nod to the theme of tonight's Met Gala.
