The Paul Andrew Sample Sale Is Very Limited in Sizing

Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.

Looking to spring into the next season with some new shoes? You might want to check out the Paul Andrew sample sale happening now in midtown. We arrived just before the 11am opening, and the room was already abuzz with frenzied shoppers. Pictures weren't allowed, but we did make note of all of the best pieces available — which, it should be said right away, weren't available in very many sizes.

There were only two sections in the showroom. To the left were the size 40 shoes, and the right housed all the size 37 shoes. Yep, only sample sizes are available at this sale (once again). Signage indicated that prices started at just $50 and went up to $500, and each shoe was marked by corresponding colored stickers on its sole. There was an even spread of prices and styles — ranging from flat sandals to high boots — in each size, but we didn't see any shoes lower than $75.

The first shoe to catch our eye was the suede and rabbit fur-covered Bowery boot ($200) in a sky blue and electric red. There were plenty of brocade Rhea Sport flat slingbacks in a ton of colors, too ($75). We also spotted a pair of Blossom pumps with clear heels and appliqued flowers ($200).

Other notable styles were the Chengdou clogs ($75), the Wing kitten heels in jacquard ($75), the Swarovski-covered Madison stilettos ($500), and the Greenwich boots in red ($200). Make sure to double check for stains and imperfections, as we did see the orange Espanola flats ($75) with some white stains on its fringes.

This sale is expected to stay pretty busy and you may even spot some street style stars while you're there (we noted Danielle Prescod early this morning). Shoppers all had multiple shoes in hand, so depending on when you make it, there may not be much left to shop. Check out the Dealfeed below for more details on this sale.
