Good morning! Today is Friday, July 8th, 2016. According to weather.com, the temperature is 80 degrees in Midtown Manhattan right now (yes, already), but it feels a bit hotter — and soupier — because of 74% humidity. The heat wave’s starting to ease up today with the high expected to hit 87, but that real-feel is still putting us in low 90s territory in the mid afternoon.

Breezes might be hard to come by today, but at least it doesn’t look like thundershowers will impede our day (read: don’t pack an umbrella) — but right now, there’s a steady chance of isolated thunderstorms stretching through the night.

So what should you wear today? Something easy, because Friday. You can make denim work in this humidity when it’s got lots of ventilation, like the pair above, and a light, breathable crop top. Add some style to the simplicity with a knotted belt and finish it off with boots (even if you’re tempted to go for sandals — it makes the whole outfit look a little less casual in just the right way).

Keep a hair tie on your wrist to take the hair off your neck when you need the relief, but be sure to shake it out when you make a grand entrance:
