There are dozens of great swimsuit brands out there and just as many places to shop them. And though you can make the case for impulsively snatching up something trendy — like high-thigh-cut maillots and overtly strappy bikinis — owning a classic one- or two-piece is just as crucial.

Here are three New York City-based boutiques that just received shipments of chic, simple swimsuits.
