Hatch and Twobirds have once again teamed up for a joint sample sale in their shared Tribeca showroom, but this sale isn't strictly limited to those in search of maternity wear from the former brand or bridesmaid dresses from the latter. When we arrived 15 minutes before the doors were set to open, the sale was already pretty busy with shoppers just looking for some cute spring pieces, regardless of whether they are expecting or attending a wedding.
In the center of the space were three racks of production samples from Hatch. Our favorite was the Pollack overalls in pink corduroy ($90 — they're also available in black). We also spotted a flannel shirtdress ($90) as well as a few other styles of plaid flannel tops. There were a couple of different sweaters ($180), and we did see one cocoon-shaped topcoat in pink fur felt ($150). Be sure to also check out the shorts ($50) and cashmere sweaters ($180) on the front table.
Along the side wall were more super-cute, one-off pieces, and these are definitely more suited for someone with a growing belly. We found a cute black and white printed jumper ($120) and the very flowy Lily tank in pink ($60). There were also few styles of pants starting at $40. This section is priced as marked, so double-check the tags.
Oh, and did we mention there are two bins with damaged goods, marked at $20 or $40? We saw some cute items with small stains that were still very wearable post-cleaning, so it's definitely worth the dig.
TwoBirds merchandise was in the back near the windows. There were three racks of convertable dresses in a rainbow of colors in either tulle or jersey, with prices ranging from $40 to $150 depending on length and material. A fitting room is available, but leave some extra time to wait for it since there is only one available. We were told there were more production samples to be stocked, so if you don't see your size on the racks, just ask one of the associates to check on it.
