NEW YORK CITY—How's this for an easy start to your 2016 fitness resolution? Soulcycle — the Classpass-averse studio whose classes never go on sale — is letting newcomers stop in for a free session through January 18th. The first class normally goes for $20, but nothing beats free. Call your local studio (see the full list of them here) to book a bike.

UPPER WEST SIDE, WEST VILLAGE—For all of those who didn't know where to start with barre comes Pure Barre's resolution-themed Learn to Barre program, which includes access to beginner workshops and Q&A sessions with master instructors, plus the chance to win prizes. Sign up for program access and two weeks of unlimited classes at New York City's two participating locations — the new West Village studio ($75) or the Upper West Side's Columbus Avenue ($100) — by clicking here.

MIDTOWN—The Hamptons-based Elements Fitness Studio is taking over the the Hatbox event space within the Refinery Hotel (63 W 38th St) between now and January 17th as part of the Wellth Series: Resolutions Refined. Cardio and barre classes are taking place several times a day, and you can browse the luxe boutique from PopUpSummer! before or after your session. See the full schedule and sign up here; consider booking the 6pm class this Wednesday to take part of the pop-up's opening reception immediately afterwards.

MIDTOWN, UPPER EAST SIDE—End-of-season sales don't just apply to department stores and boutiques. The Metropolitan Museum of Art Store has plenty of merchandise going for half-off over the next couple weeks, like this necklace for $132.75 or these French-inspired notecards for $7.48. You can shop online or at the Rockefeller Center store, or head uptown to the museum itself to pull double-duty with a shopping trip and a fashion exhibit visit.
