Movie theaters are the bastion of laziness, a dark hole in which to sit still for upwards of two hours while cramming your face with salted buttered popcorn and various forms of chocolate (M&Ms, Sno-Caps, Junior Mints — you can’t lose). But best friends and business partners Gwyneth Paltrow and Tracy Anderson are about to turn an old movie theater from the epitome of motionlessness into its exact opposite: a boutique fitness studio.

The New York Post reports that the duo will convert the former cinema at 239 East 59th Street — 5,000 square feet, 20-foot-high ceilings, and right by the base of the Queensboro Bridge — into the city’s second Tracy Anderson Studio, featuring the tiny trainer's cult workout whose fans include not only GP but also Madonna, Jennifer Aniston, J. Lo, and a whole host of women who call themselves a #tamily.

Anderson's NYC classes are currently being held out of a temporary location on Mercer Street in Soho while the new Tribeca one is finalized at 271 Church Street; there’s also a smattering of locations on Long Island’s East End, in LA, and one in London.

We reached out to representatives to Tracy Anderson Studio, who declined to comment on this report.
