Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.

You’re not a regular bride, you’re a cool bride. If you're already going alternative for your wedding invitations and your ring choices — both for the engagement and the big day — don’t settle on the same old French manicure that brides have been painting on for millions of years (yup, that’s a fact).

We turned to Van Court, the new healthy nail salon in the Financial District, to ask about some alternatives. Below, check out four wedding manicure options that general manager and lead technician Lisa Lee created exclusively for Racked:

Van Court Wedding Nails

Be Bold (top left): "A red nail is certainly one way to get noticed. This is for the bride who doesn’t shy away from bold colors or design. This design was inspired by a corset, and the bride can change up the shades to further personalize it."

French Twist (top right): "For the classic bride who wants to be a bit playful, this look gives them the ability to wear a nude."

Shine Bright Like a Diamond (bottom left): "For the bride who likes sparkle, but wants her dress to shine."

Something Blue (bottom right): "Most brides usually hide their ‘something blue,' but integrating blue into the manicure allows her to wear tradition proudly on her hands."
