Joe Fresh Is Now Down to a Single Store in NYC

Nearly a year after Joe Fresh revealed that it would be subletting its two Fifth Avenue stores, the Canadian fast-fashion brand has finally exited both premises. The Flatiron store was the first to go at the end of 2015, and now WWD confirms that its largest NYC location is done, too.

Since its 34th Street and Madison Avenue locations are also shuttered, signage on all locations direct customers to its last remaining store in SohoIts website still has a little catching up to do — it refers to "4 stores" in the NYC area, but only lists the 462 Broadway location.

At least Madison Avenue and both Fifth Avenue stores remain shells of their former selves, with empty shelves and racks bathed in the company's signature orange and white colorway left for customers to peer at. But considering their locations, it's doubtful they'll stay empty for long.

"Everybody has looked at it [510 Fifth Avenue location]," retail real estate scion Faith Hope Consolo told the fashion paper. "Zara, TopShop, mostly the fast-fashion companies, and Lululemon," Both Zara and Topshop have stores on this stretch of Fifth Avenue — the latter up at 48th Street, and the former at both 42nd and 52nd streets — but Lululemon has yet to make a push in this pocket of the city.
