Last Week's Biggest Sales: Carl Gould Capitol Hill Home Goes for $7.7M

Listed for: $9.5M
Received: $7.7M
Size: 5-BR, 8.5-bath, 12,050 sq. ft.
Location: 1137 Harvard Ave E, Capitol Hill
The Skinny: We've had our eye on this Carl Gould classic for some time. We first noticed it back in June 2013 when it listed for $9.5M. It came down to $8.5M in March of this year before finally going pending in August. $7.7M might be a tough pill to swallow but that's before you remember this house actually once listed for $11.2M! Whatever the price, it's still a stunner with grand-scale rooms, a sunroom, seven fireplaces, two offices and an elevator thrown in for good measure.

Listed for: $8.9M
Received: $3.2M
Size: 7-BR, 4.5-bath, 7,100 sq. ft.
Location: 2550 40th Ave W, Magnolia
The Skinny: Otherwise known as Jamie Moyer's Unsellable Home, this one took quite a while and quite a price-chop in order to finally change hands. We saw the price drop from $8.9M to $7.8M to $5.3M to $4.85M and eventually $3.595M before the sale. he new owners get a built-in espresso bar, 1,500-bottle wine cellar, batting cage and a screening room.

Listed for: $1.795M
Received: $$1.662M
Size: 4-BR, 3-bath, 3,520 sq. ft.
Location: 8663 Fauntleroy Wy SW, Fauntleroy
The Skinny: Not as big as the other homes on the list but street-to-waterfront property in Fauntleroy is gonna boost your price any day. Built in 1951, the home has clearly been restored and kept in good shape but retains minor touches that keep the midcentury alive. On and off the market since January 2013, the sellers must be happy to finally close the deal.
