Check Out Just How Much South Lake Union Has Changed

A little while back The Brookings Institute released an 'Innovation Districts' report focusing on major U.S cities. According to Brookings vice-president Bruce Katz, the model of the innovation district is "best exemplified by the remarkable regeneration of Seattle's South Lake Union area." He goes on to say that innovation districts like South Lake Union "have the unique potential to spur productive, inclusive and sustainable economic development." On almost every point that drives a top-tier innovation district (re-imagined urban areas; growth of pharmaceutical companies, universities and medical campuses; attracting and retaining a highly skilled talent), South Lake Union meets the criteria. Of course, you don't really need a report to tell you that, just take a look around at how much SLU has changed and grown in such a short amount of time. And then remember it's still changing and growing...
